Merits

For removal defense practices

The evidence package, assembled and sourced. You review, verify, and sign.

Merits builds country conditions indexes and filings on the merits for EOIR practice. Every claim links to a specific page of a specific archived version of a specific document, so the record still holds when the hearing finally arrives.

Every claim pinned to a version

Citations resolve to an archived snapshot with a SHA-256 hash and a retrieval date, not to a live URL that can change or vanish before the hearing.

Counsel verifies, and can prove it

Only a practitioner of record can mark a citation verified. Export a report showing every assertion, its source, and who signed off.

Built on the EOIR record, not just case law

Package composition, exhibit formatting, translation certificates, and filing deadlines follow the Immigration Court Practice Manual.

Using AI is not the risk. Filing without verifying is.

Merits will not export a packet that contains an unverified citation, and it will not let anyone other than the practitioner of record sign off. When a source changes after you verified it, the citation is flagged stale before you file rather than after.

Merits is software, not a law firm, and provides no legal advice. The attorney of record remains responsible for every filing.

Deadlines computed from the Practice Manual, not from memory

Calendar days, weekend and federal holiday rolling, and the abandonment risk spelled out. In detained cases, where EOIR publishes no default, Merits asks for the scheduling order instead of guessing.

Private practices

Per seat, priced against what your case management already costs. Design partners get the first three months free in exchange for thirty minutes of feedback every two weeks.

Nonprofits and legal aid

Separate track. Given the current funding environment, the question is not price, it is whether your data agreements and funders permit it. Tell us your constraints and we will work to them.
